Abstract

Visual impairment profoundly impairs the daily quality of life in stroke patients. Given that a large portion of the central nervous system participates in visual processing and eye movements, it is not surprising that approximately 10% of patients suffer from visual disturbance after stroke. Previously, we reviewed the afferent visual system dysfunction resulting from stroke. Subsequently in this review, we overview the efferent visual system dysfunction caused by vascular etiologies and summarize the neurotologic and neuro-ophthalmologic findings according to the neural structures involved.
